Shutter: Browser Capture Skills for Claude Code
Four Claude Code skills that capture your web app the way you'd want to show it: screenshots at every size and theme, looping GIFs for READMEs and slides, and polished showcase videos with a gliding cursor. Say what you want; Claude drives the browser and hands you the file.

What's inside
Shutter is a Claude Code plugin with four skills. You describe the capture in plain words, and Claude drives a real browser, captures it, checks the result, and hands you the file.
- shutter-screenshot — PNGs at desktop, tablet, and mobile, in light and dark, at retina scale. Name any size, device, or purpose ("OG image", "iPhone SE", "at the md breakpoint") and it sets it.
- shutter-gif — a 3 to 8 second looping GIF of one interaction, converted with a two-pass palette so UI text stays crisp, and stepped down automatically until it fits the size limit.
- shutter-video — a 1080p showcase MP4 from a short JSON shot list: a cursor that glides from link to link, eased scrolling, dissolves on page changes, and an optional caption strip. Or a plain capture-mode take for walkthroughs and bug repros.
- shutter-setup — checks for agent-browser, ffmpeg, and a JavaScript runtime, prints the exact install commands for anything missing, and takes a first capture so you see the loop work.
The download is a zip you upload once at claude.ai (Customize > Plugins > Upload plugin) or drop into ~/.claude/skills/. It includes the Shutter Guide PDF, which walks through each skill with recipes.
What you need
macOS or Linux, Claude Code, and two free tools you install separately: agent-browser and ffmpeg. The scripts run on Bun, Node 22.18+, or Deno.
Who it's for
Developers and design technologists who ship web apps and keep needing the same three artifacts: a screenshot for the PR, a GIF for the README or deck, a short video for the launch post or portfolio. Shutter replaces the QuickTime-and-ffmpeg routine with one sentence to Claude.
